As you heard previously, Deborah took a massive leap of faith by going to Turkeye,
Finland, and Estonia. The doctors informed her that complete healing would take one year.
Two weeks before the trip deadline, she obtained a clearance to travel. It was six months from
her two surgery dates. She doubled up on her exercises and prayers to make the trip. She
aimed to cut the healing time in half. Mission fulfilled!

Although she had permission to travel, she was very unstable on her feet. Of course, we
planned to rely on our missionary friends for help. We were just thrilled to be with them on this
trip of a lifetime. With small steps, she shuffled her feet as a missionary held her under each
arm.

While visiting the Seven Churches of Revelation, as Debbie was climbing the mountain
to the Pergamon ruins, a sudden release of the uncomfortable tightness in her back and legs
occurred. She instantly began taking steps that became a normal stride. In one moment, she
became steady on her feet for the first time since surgery.

The entire busload of missionary friends that we have known for 25 years noticed the
change. For Debbie, it was the second-most-significant Christmas gift she had received from
God. Salvation grace will always hold that dominant place. But a healing gift such as this is a
glorious second. She is still experiencing the results from each gift today.

Larry wondered why this gift could not have happened at the Philadelphia ruins, where
people were faithful, rather than at Pergamos, where Satan’s throne was located. But the Holy
Spirit prompted him that both Salvation and healing are part of God’s plan to make Debbie into
more than a conqueror. Ultimately, our Lord’s power and His position have bumped Satan off
his throne. What a suitable accomplishment of our Lord Jesus Christ.
